I want to welcome you to this little piece of
cyberspace named “perrynazarene." I hope this site is helpful to you.
It is the extension of a group of Christian believers who called
themselves Perry Nazarenes. I have been lead pastor of the Perry Church
of the Nazarene for the last eight years. Together, we have enjoyed
growing together in Christ and welcoming others into our family.
Whether you would like to be a part of the family or just want more
information, I encourage you to check out this web site and let us know
how we can help.
I have been a pastor since 1990, after graduating
from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological
Seminary. I consider it my primary task to communicate the good news of
Jesus Christ in all its fullness. The sermons online are there for your
encouragement. Feel free to respond to me about any of them. I would
enjoy hearing from you. I have been married to Sandy for 25 years
and have three children- Megan, who works as a social worker at an area
nursing home; Eric, who is a junior at ONU; and Katie who is a sophomore
at LCC. |

I'm a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in music
performance. I am also an ordained elder in the Church of the
Nazarene.
I enjoy leading the music of worship for God's people. Besides
music, I enjoy gadgets, reading and participating in sports of all
kinds. I also enjoy long walks on the beach, in the mountains and video
games. I am married to Reese and we have two sons, Joshua and
Jacob. I'm very energetic at different times during the day and
can consume great quantities of food at meal times. I have a lot of
interests and if you would like to check those out, you can find me on
Facebook.
Musical influences - Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman and Keith
Green.

I grew up in the Perry Oak subdivision in the same house
until I went off to college at Olivet Nazarene University in 2003. I
had always been a home body (and really still am), but since then I have
had the opportunity (thank God!) to travel to some amazing places
including South Africa, Namibia, Fiji, and Hawaii. And although I love
to travel, I am most thankful that God is with and for us wherever we
go!
After ONU, I spent 3 ½ years at New Hope Church of the Nazarene in
Princeton, Illinois. Erin and I got married in January of 2010 shortly
after which we moved to Honolulu, Hawaii for a year for her Master’s
Degree (in Social Work). We moved back to Michigan in June 2011 and are
excited to be home!
Besides traveling, I also love being outdoors, playing sports, watching
movies, reading, photography, singing, and my other part time job
working construction for Custombuilt Basements and Decks. |
